If it is just heat you can also put metal spoon in hot water for a bit and then on the bite.

Spoon trick is 100% cheaper. But I guess it's less convenient.

You could take the Beurer camping, in the car, next to the BBQ etc. But you're definitely paying for the convenience.

Hot spoon? Amazon suggests a proper alternative.

  • Bought one but yet to find a chance to test it.

    • +1

Lots of rain in NSW…wait a few days for the mozzies to test.

I bought one of these in the last deals. Surprisingly effective. I used to use the hot spoon method but much prefer this. Can use it immediately and don't have to put the kettle on.

    • +3

Cigarette lighters are faster than the kettle

      • +2

Yep, but then you have to do something with the burn.

        I prefer acid

        • to heat the spoon.

      • +5

        Just use the cigarette.

    • What does a hot spoon do?

      • +2

        cools down after sometime.

means you can still get into heaven if you're not married.

  • Even cheaper than last time!

    • Last deal was $24.88 each…

      • Only if you bought 3.

  • +4

Bought 3 from the last deal.

It works really well for me. There's about a second of discomfort for me with each use.

    • If you get 10 bites, you need to order 10.

      • * If you need quick relief. 10 bites in 3 seconds(with some assistance) vs 30 seconds.

The other two were for 2 friends.

    • +2

I got that deal too. Just checked the order it was 3 units delivered for $74.22. One each for our daughter, son & us. Yes they work.

    I got br60… kinda works I guess.
    Sometimes need 2-3 applications.

  • Does this leave behind any sign of a burn? Not sure about replacing one issue with another! ;)

    • No sign of a burn

  • Got one in the last deal for my partner who's a magnet for mozzies and she's very happy with it.

    • +2

She probably applies it to the right spot which makes her happy.

  • How are these different to all the other antipruritic devices on aliexpress for $5?

    • +1

      this is $35

    • I’ve had two from Aliexpress

One was excellent but only lasted a month

      One doesn’t get hot enough

      • Thank you for the reviews!

So, these are all basically the same device, but are of different quality.

Got 1 in the last deal (thanks to @Turbonbetics), and I was deeply sceptical of its effectiveness. As somebody who - in 40's to 50's - experienced increasing intensity and duration of reaction to mozzie and sand-fly bites, I was prepared to try this out to see if it improved my use of stop-itch, antihistamine etc.

    My experience so far:

    • (1) Fresh mozzie bite: applied the '1/2 strength' heat and bite symptoms were gone for good
    • (2) 2-day mozzie bite: applied the '1/2 strength' heat and experienced only temporary relief (say, 0.5-1hr). Followed up with the full strength heat and - against all expectations - no further symptoms.

    YMMV

  • Is the deal gone?

    Edit: Yep.

  • Saliva counteracts the chemical from the mosquito if immediately applie on the mozzie bite, just saturate it with your own saliva for 15 mins or more.

    • does it need to be your own?

      • It does not.

      • +1

who is kink shaming with the down vote :(

what ever happened to those click zappers?

    • you can get one from a lighter

  • I have a couple new ones from last deal. If anyone missed out and interested, DM me. I'm in Melbourne.

    • Me too I have one unopened in box from last deal if anyone wants one DM me.

  • I bought 3 from last deal and somehow only 2 arrived, box had clear sign of tampering with 🤷‍♂️
Mosquito bite leaves me itchy for at least one week, sometime two. This is life saver.
