I have lots of watch rolls, most cost a lot more than this one, but I use this one the most because it's the most compact and feels sturdy and secure. The leather is nice and thick, it has wide sliding pillows, unlike other rolls that use snap buttons on the sides of the pillows like this one: https://www.amazon.com.au/POPETPOP-Vintage-Display-Leather-O… which are annoying to use.

I'm currently travelling with it and it fits an Ecozilla, a GS GMT LE, and an LE Screamtimer. All bought for TRS and all pretty big in size. And also an Astron on my wrist.

I bought this for full price, and I think it's worth it at full price. Now it's a limited time deal for 50 bucks which is an absolute bargain.

How many watch rolls do you have?

    • I dunno, about 8?

  • +17

I carry a Girard-Perregaux Quasar Light Tourbillon, Chopard L.U.C All-in-One 'Janus Watch', and Bulgari Magsonic Sonnerie Tourbillon in mine, and keep my beater Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Grande Complication on wrist.

I dunno what all them fancy words are, but I normally carry around 15kg of pure palladium.

When I want to show off my wealth, I carry inkjet printer ink instead.

      • +1

        Genuine printer ink?

        I prefer gold pressed latinum.
But don’t buy it from Quark.

Damn nice. You forgot to add links to them as well like OP did. We need the visuals and price tag as an accompaniment when admiring things we never asked about.

Thanks RB, got one for my dad.

He keeps all his watches in disarray, chucked in a drawer. My heart hurt when I saw it. He also threw away my Pillows on which my watches were strapped on when I gave them to him to get the batteries changed near his place.
    😅

    • +3

I had mine in disarray and got the box instead of the scroll. Cheaper, can see the watches, Ecodrives can remain charged and can hold 12 watches. Scroll would be great for travelling.

Thanks OP, perfect timing! Just bought my third Tsuyosa.

    • That's a nice colour, but I think it has an 8 series movement. And need to ditch the cyclops.

      Just bought my third Tsuyosa.

Because the other 2 didn't give accurate time?

I have the same one from their Ali Express store and agree it is good value.

Used to be cheaper in the Ali Express sales https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/665425 Also has free engraving, or embossing for a fee on their Ali Express store

    • I didn't know they had an Ali store. I didn't join OzB until late 2022.

      • Damn … needed your backing for my post back then ;) … 45 votes for your deal at 20% higher price & only 3 (plus me) for mine back then. hahaha

    • +1

I got two from that deal from a few years ago. Very good quality. Did ask both to be engraved but gor them without. Not too fussed though and happy with the rolls.

      • Wow almost as many as the total number of votes from that deal! Glad to see someone benefitted from it though :)

        • Sorry mate, I didn't word properly. Meant to say I bought from that aliexpress seller but I never saw the post until yesterday. Got them a bit cheaper, two for $70.

Scroll would be great for travelling but the box may be a better option:

    • Yes, I have posted box deals in the past: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/813876

      • +1

Nice. The one I linked is $39.99 and is quite good quality as I have been using it for 2years.

        • +1

Yeah, but I prefer 24 slots

          • @rosebank: Oh, wow. I didn’t realise that. Time to buy that one. I like my other one too as it has space to put additional straps etc.

          • @rosebank: Can the deviders be removed on the bottom draw. Only need for up to 12 watches but would be good to use the bottom draw for straps, cufflings and other bits and pieces. Cheers

            • +1

@tman2020: Nope, the slots are fixed. There are plenty of boxes on Amazon that will suit your use case, like the one @RandomDealHunter linked above.

  • Is it crime to use this for smart watches? I'm unable to sell my old smart watches.

    • +1

Nope. I keep mine as I rotate between Garmin, Withings and Apple Watch for normal days. Analogue watches are in there too i.e. the box I mentioned above.

    • Would be okay for display purposes, but i dont know how it would be practical as smart watches tend to drain battery even when they’re not worn on the wrist.

      • 😔 Ur right.

    • Why can't you sell them? If not, can you give away/donate to someone who might get some use? Otherwise - bin?

      Why not?

    • Fashion

    • You're going to a wedding/funeral/social event and your usual G-Shock/Steeldive/diver of choice just isn't going to cut it. And obviously you're not going to wear a dress watch all trip…

Or hell, maybe you're just going fishing or something, and don't feel like wearing whatever watch you're using for that the rest of the trip.

You're not going to wearing the same clothes doing backyard work that you do going out, so why should you have to with your watch?

      • probably because the watch doesn't serve any practical purpose now we have phones other than as jewellery but that's just my preference, I've gone too long without a weight on my wrist I'm used to same

        • I still find it way easier to lift my wrist and tell the time

        • lolz.

        • +1

A watch is absolutely a cosmetic item (mostly). And plenty of people wear plenty of cosmetic items - sometimes even while traveling!

    • Usually people carry 3 watches as follows:

One for a beater or daily where theres a chance I would bang it against something
One sports watch for casual wear
One Dress watch for special or formal events.

But in saying that i actually carry 5 bwuahhaha

  • Legit didn't know this was a thing

  • Maybe an obvious comment but get the same one off taobao for a fraction

    • +3

      Not with this design.

I have one from Ali express and even though overall the quality is good it doesnt protect the watches as well as this one design wise.

      • the cushions that hold the watches actually slide and lock into place preventing the face of the watch from bunch around and hitting the top of the roll.
      • the front flap actually is stuck in place preventing the cushions from falling out when opening the roll.
      • there is 4 buttons that lock the roll in place unlike many that have 1 or 2 only.
      • Interesting.

On one of the aliexpress links up top, I found this case look alike for $25.

But who knows what quality is like.

      • Gotta catch em all!

It's also just the most affordable way to collect watches!

Well spotted OP, thanks for sharing it. That's a good deal indeed. I paid over $110 for my 3 watch roll from Strapify when they had it on special in December last year.

    • +1

The full (or top)-grain hexagonal ones with the weirdly shaped sliding 'pillows'? I have 2 of those; they're nice but bigger than this one and take up a lot of room because of the shape.

      • I got their Hamilton model, the shape is very similar to this one, it's very compact. I need another one, but I want a different colour. Strapify's "Rolex" green looks so good, I will wait for their next promo to grab one, $159 is a bit expensive.

        • +1

i have a green Hamilton as well, but it has snap buttons on the pillows which I find really annoying. Strapify have a few sales a year; always good to wait.

  • Is this a local shipment ready item similar to what is on AliExpress or an item of higher quality?

    • I haven't bought any watch rolls from Aliexpress so idk

    • I would like to know as well.

I've.just seen a look alike for $25 on AE.

    • says fastest delivery 8 - 15 May so it aint a local shipment

  • Is it really made of a crazy horse's leather?

  • +1

    Excellent.Cheers OP.

My Royal Oak, Panda Daytona and Nautilus 5711 needed a new home.

    • Cool!

If you're looking for a new home for those watches, I would suggest realestate.com.au

  • Looking for a flat watch storage thing, atleast 4-5 watches as a minimum with a glass cover, any leads please? Cheers!
