  • Damn I literally ordered this 2 days ago for a bit more

  • Has anyone used these? They look like they'd be trivial to break, although I guess you can't expect too much for $5

    • +2

Ive tried it, it can be slightly finicky to utilise but it works well and will definitely jam the door shut after the lock is engaged, kind of like an extra hinge for the door but its purpose is to lock.

It won't stop a motivated individual from breaking down your door but that'll apply for your standard lock too, good for those Airbnbs with indoor rooms without locks.

You cant open the locked door from the outside too so its more secure from lockpicking. For this price can not go wrong.

    • My brother got some of these (off ebay all the same shit anyways), and you can break the lock by kicking the door down, so no it won't stop a motivated individual, or unmotivated group but it may stop an unmotivated individual.

I mean, with that logic you can kick down any door…

This is more to lock doors without locks or to stop people that may have a key from using it, e.g. hotels and AirBNB's.

If they're going to commit an aggravated burglary then windows break easier.

  • Anyone got anything similar for a sliding door?

    • ziptie?

  • Not sure I get it, are these for locking yourself in when you're sleeping for instance or locking the door behind you when you're out?

    • Locking yourself in

    • Locking yourself in the room.

    • Locking yourself in, in case some dodgy places has keys or unlocks your door without you wanting or knowing. It keeps the door shut from people coming in.

    • I use these for work, will u restock as I could use 2-4 more

      • Why you need locked doors at work mate?

        • Due to work not providing locks for sleep over rooms on emergency placements 😂

      • Hi there I have done a recount and added another 30 packs!

        • Only just saw and it's gone… Any chance of another 2 or 4 lieing around and we can organize direct sale? :)

    • Do you have new version? I went on holiday and the hotel door lock was "triple" type than the "single" hole

Are most people just trying to convince themselves of a scenario that they would actually use this?
I've stayed in the worst of the worst accomodation, and I've never not had a lock on my door.

    • -1

Child protection work, emergency accomodation rarely has locks on staff rooms etc for first few days due to needing rental approvals etc.

    • +1

      These aren’t protection proof anyways

since buying mine 9 years ago I've been to Europe, middle East, Japan x 3, US x 2, Cambodia, india, China, Vietnam, Singapore x 3, Malaysia, HK, south korea, Bali x2 and have forgotten to take it with me every single time….

    • Interesting you said Europe and then listed ELEVEN countries in Asia instead of just saying Asia.

      • europe was 1 trip, the others were individual trips

      • +1

To be fair Europe is like one big country.. think Australia.

Have just done a recount and have added the last 30 packs of 2 locks to our website. Thats it.. so we are not going to be restocking our product as we are retiring to spend time with the grandkids and time for ourselves. Thank you again for all your support of our little family business over the years. Stay safe and we wish you well.
