    No love for Perth :-(

  • When does this expire. Need to get the group together for discussion first

    • +1

      It ends midday on 9/Jun.

    • +1

These sale fares ($20) will be mostly gone by the end of the day or be that limited that you will have a large amount of trouble trying to book for a group at the $20 sale fares.

      • When I booked a special before, there seemed to be only 2 seats per flight at the special price.
Not sure what the limit is this time.

        • +1

Agree. I just looked for tickets Melb to Gold Coast. None available any day over the 3 months suggested.

        • @deal88: Luckily was able to book melb to gc with a 9 day gap but is well needed haha

  • Wow!

  • +2

Thanks IWTF. Booked a weekend Gold Coast trip.

  • +1

hobart is dearer than gold coast

    • Um, departing from Launceston, Brisbane?

      • tiger don't fly into launceston..

      • +1

I think DU99 means from Melbourne.

        • +1

          Yeah.
          Pointless without stating departure.

        • @macamaca:

          Pointless without stating departure.

Actually its not pointless. The point was its more expensive. like spaij said you could reasonably predict they are talking about Melbourne - especially considering its the only flights available to/from Hobart.

  • +1

cheap flights to rtx au thanks

  • Jetstar wait time between 30 and 60 mins..hmm

  • Each one way ticket is $20, but a return ticket is $54? How does that make any sense, Rep?

    • Not available that day try changing return date

    • Can you send a screenshot to [email protected] and I will check it out.

  • +1

Geez, check out the restrictions - Not available on Monday from 00:00-10:30, Friday & Sunday from 10AM onwards and Saturday from 00:00-13:59.

  • +3

If you can find a similarly timed Jetstar flight (within 1hr) you could even get an extra 10% off and no booking/cc fees

    http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/price-beat-guarantee

  • Sooooo has anyone ticked debit MasterCard and put in MasterCard credit card details by accident ?

    • +1

Yeah, it knows. As soon as you enter in the first few digits, it works out if it's a debit or credit provider.

      • Good to know, thanks. ;)

  • +2

just got jetstar to price match. 2 return to melbourne for $72.

    • From where?

      • +1

        my bad. sydney. Friday-Sun though

        • can I ask which dates this was for?

  • +1

    booked 7 people

    • and one more for the mother-in-law

  • urgent advice appreciated please. How can I avoid the booking fees ? Its a bit steep to charge $8.50 per journey per person. Would a woolworth prepaid master debit card do it ?

    • +1

      Use a debit card.

  • +1

Thanks Forma2 but I don't have a debit card that's the problem, that's why I ask if I can get a Woolworth's preloaded debit card to pay for it. For two people it can mean a saving of $34 ouch !!

    • Sorry I have not read your questions properly.

  • +2

    bne - ade - bne x 4 = $160 SWEEEEET

  • +5

a train ticket to the airport (sydney) costs more than the flight ticket.

  • +1

Adult $20 but infant triple the price OUCH!!!
Infant seat on a parent's lab doesn't even cost them a seat. This is just wrong!!!

    • Book them in as a child and pay $20 instead of $60

    • +1

Use jetstar price beat - infant fly for free on Jetstar with pram/stroller check-in!!

  • Aaah no nicely timed or priced flights for MEL-ADL or MEL-CFS for a weekend getaway.

  • +3

    SYD - PPP - SYD x 4 = $160 SWEEEEET!!

  • Everytime Tiger Air run a sale, Jetstar makes more money.

    • +1

Assuming they make money from $20 fares…

      • They always receive something. Including brand relationship. Sometimes it's more valuable.

  • Thanks OP, SYD - MEL weekend getaway with JQ price beat for 7 people for $252.

  • Are the discounts added at the end? As soon as I get redirected to TigerAir, the prices shoot up?

    • +1

I just booked 3 separate flights and yeah the prices do shoot up however I believe because they try and sneak the luggage fee on you. Try and deselect the luggage option. It's on the top left hand of the screen.

    • +1

Make sure you're selecting the correct dates and times. The fare will stand out as Sale $20. Not all flights for those dates are on sale.

  • +1

Can't find any Melbourne to Gold Coast or return for $20. Must be already gone.

    • Strange, I just found a couple and selected them, but when it redirects to the Tiger website, it doesn't have the sale price anywhere, just the regular $99. Any ideas?

      • Nevermind, just worked it out because I chose 4 adults… 1 adult was fine… mustn't be enough seats, bummer.

  • +1

Thanks heaps! Saw this waaay before the TigerAir email arrived. Booked a little getaway to Gold Coast again, ($20 each way) added a few extras, (seat selection, extra carry on weight on return home) used a few of my Velocity points and paid $19.76 total! Love it!

  • -1

So If you don't use mastercard you don't get the $20 fare? is that right?

  • +2

If you price beat with jetstar they don't charge cc fee. Paid with AMEX awesome! Paying with velocity points for tiger is good as well

    • Jetstar AMEX good
Velocity points with Tiger probably not worth it. A few thousand points needed to pay. Bad redemption value. Better to pay outright and save the points for a full price fare.

  • I checked Melbourne to Sydney 10/3/17 to 13/3/17 which is within your timeframe. cheapest price is $130!

    • Probably because that's the Labour day long weekend in VIC (monday 13th)

      • I know, however the post reads travel Dates: 31/Jan/2017 - 29/Mar/2017

  • Just curious if any body managed to get one for the price :-)

    • I'm at payment screen now with $20 each way (BNE-ADL). Just depends on destination & date if any remaining.

      • Probably it's because I need 4 seats, tried all dates ade->bree, no luck. Some guys have suggested that there just 2 $20 per flight.

    • +1

Just booked 3 separate flights for a round trip totalling $80 (luggage on one flight only).

Qantas Frequent Flyer Card / Mastercard debit card made it fee free.

Still plenty of seats available coming up to 7pm on the flights I was looking at (mid to late March).

Edit: deselect all other luggage, seat selection, carbon offset and anything else they automatically try to sell me.

  • BNE-MEL and BNE-ADL for $20 surely must be an all time low.

Just booked a 'couple' of SYD-BNEs and MELs through JQ price beat. Too cheap to pass up on. Can easily eat/drink more than $18 worth in the J lounges anyhow :')

    • Yeah, and they didn't block out the Vic March long weekend so managed to fly BNE-MEL on the Monday Night for $20. Bargain! No just wait for a decent Saturday fare on the way up..

  • my route is Sold out…

  • I'm not sure if this is silly but how can I find the cheapest flights from Friday night to Sunday? Do I manually have to look through all the Friday to Sunday flights?

    • To be 100% sure you do. Adioso used to be good for this but unfortunately it's next to useless these days. The best to use would be to use Kayak and click "Show flexible dates" under the search button and choose weekends, you can then specify Friday PM etc. and search all the carriers but only a month at a time.

  • thanks! I bought tickets for my parents syd-mel for $80 return.

  • +1

Thanks OP, price matched with jetstar for $36 return flight.

    • +1

Jetstar isn't price matching today anymore, u got lucky! They posted this LAME excuse on their website:

"" We are experiencing some technical difficulties with our Price Beat Guarantee. As a result, we are currently unable to offer this service on some flights. We are working to fix the issue so, if we were unable to help you today, please check back at a later time.""

i went ahead and booked tiger, their service improved significantly in the last 2 years not as bad as they used to be.

      • That same message was there when I did it last night. It took an hour before a rep was available on chat.

        • ah i see, i gave up on waiting lol then saw that lame message on their website so i just booked up with tiger, was worried it sells out as the dates kept selling every 10 minutes when i checked!

U did a good job getting a price match on jetstar though, they are better airlines.

        • @Bargaingeek:

Yup, didn't really care about the 4 bucks. Just wanted to avoid tiger at all costs.

  • Amazing deal, i have never seen the price so low ever before! i went ahead and booked directly on tiger air website (Use MasterCard debit card to save on fees)

Unfortunatley Gold Coast sold out :( real quick which was my first preference, I got 2 tickets Melb-Sydney Return :) , Was planning a trip around that time, this was perfect
